  • Consignee and notify party — exact name and address, character by character

  • Total gross weight and number of packages

Between B/L and packing list:

  • Gross weight — the most common mismatch and the easiest to miss
  • Package count and type (cartons, pallets, drums)
  • Container and seal numbers
  • Marks and numbers

Between commercial invoice and packing list:

  • Line item quantities — every item on the invoice should reconcile to the packing list
  • Unit prices and total values
